ABOUT JESSIE KILGUSS

I started practicing breathwork regularly seven years ago. I had done talk therapy for years and found it extremely useful but was tired of talking about the same problems over and over again. It felt like I was calling more of the same experiences into my life by giving so much attention to them. I believe that what we focus on expands. I was tired of focusing on old wounds. I was looking for a way to release those old patterns and problems and make room for new experiences. I found breathwork to be the answer to that search.

What I love about breathwork is that it is physical. Many of us are conditioned to stuff down our feelings without fully processing them. Through breathwork we can pull those repressed emotions up to the surface, release them and allow space for the life we want to create.

As an empath, I find it easy to tune into other peoples’ emotions. This allows me to guide you through your session intuiting areas where you might need attention.

I’ve been practicing meditation for twenty years, including completing the Transcendental Meditation course, several trainings at the Shambhala Meditation Center of New York (level III), as well as the advanced week-long and advanced follow-up retreats with Dr. Joe Dispenza.

My life so far has been colorful, and I hope it continues to be so! I am a former professional actress and current songwriter/singer and performer. Acting highlights include The Black Rider (London and Sydney), written by William Burroughs and Tom Waits, starring Marianne Faithfull and Mary Margaret O’Hara, a UK production (and subsequent UK & US tour) of As You Like It, directed by Royal Shakespeare Company founder, Sir Peter Hall and the film adaptation of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, starring Daniel Day Lewis and Winona Ryder.

As a singer/songwriter I have released 6 albums, toured Europe with Freddie Stevenson opening for the Waterboys and perform regularly around NYC with my band as well as the Loser’s Lounge, Gramercy Arms and Jim Andralis and the Syntonics.

I have also worked for various arts service nonprofits, most notably as Executive Director of Musicambia, an organization that brings music education programs into prisons and jails throughout the US.

I’m driven by creativity, compassion and the desire to help people. I’m looking forward to guiding you in your breathwork session to greater clarity, ease and transformation.
